Reflections On Rumi

Reflections on Rumi.

A Sufi mystic and poet from the 1200's

his writings move me deeply,

touching my heart

pulling on its strings.

Drawing me into a contemplation

of the significance of this thing

we call existence.

There I question

and delve into the inner meaning

of this thing we call life.

There I tread to the brink of my reality

and explore what lies beyond

what I have come to view as fact.

Knowing that by stepping to the edge

and examining it

I can do nothing but expand it.

To bring even more questions

into the fold

and when I find answers

they in turn birth

new queries to examine.

   Ever broadening my reality

as my consciousness is taken

for a ride into the unknown

only to realize that there is no end.

This seeking, studying the light of what we are

leads to greater insights

and yet even more to pursue.

Ever brighter this light of understanding is,

yet ever unfinished it is too!
