A Fall Morn

A Fall Morn

The birds chirp and sing their songs,
flitting to and fro from the feeders.
A Downy woodpecker
pecks away at the suet
enjoying its breakfast.
The air is misty looking
full of moisture.
Dew drops
are covering the table
and any flat surface.
There is a damp coolness
in the air
as the sunrise makes
the sky glow ever brighter
in the East.

My dog wanders out
as if to check on my whereabouts
and hops up on my lap,
settling in
her ears and nose twitching
with the sounds and smells
as she too takes in this fall morn.
I sip my beverage
its warmth graces my lips and mouth
then course down my throat.

My hope is you sense
the peace and serenity
of a fall morn
 as you read this
and your day flows
with an appreciation
for this gift of life.

How soaking it all in,
sensing it,
feeling it,
tasting it,
hearing it,
seeing it,
smelling it
is part of being it
of being one with it.

All My Love Always, Keith
