The Owls

THE OWLS
10/17/11

Ah, they are back!
The owls are back again, chatting in the tree tops.
Two distinct calls: one much deeper than the other.
Mates perhaps, I know not?

For when I look up all I see
is the dark silhouette off the trees, nothing else.
But I do notice, one set of hoots
is always answered by the other.
I can tell exactly where they are.
One just overhead,
the other farther off on the right.
Then we wander off.

On the way back I listen intently.
Road noise I hear,
a train off in the distance.
It’s lilting horn wafting lazily through the air.

Ah, but then the owls again!
I know the spot
where I heard the last one.
But it’s apparent now
that one has moved on.
The other hasn’t.
Same spot now, directly above,
ah there’s the other one
closer and deeper in the wood.

What makes it seem so surreal,
why do I love nature so?
May you find something today

just like that, something that just captivates you so.

Reading about nature is fine,
but if a person walks in the woods and listens carefully,
he can learn more than what is in books,
for they speak with the voice of God.

LOVE

LOVE
05.26.15

Love, I have written of it often.
I have thought of it and contemplated it far more.
I’ve spoken, that for me, God is Love: infinite unconditional love.
It’s the way I start my Qigong practice every day:
calling on the Divine healing energy of infinite unconditional love,
compassion and profound peace of Almighty God.
It’s the glue that holds humanity and the Universe together.
It’s why I believe we are here:
to grow in love and share that love with others.
So I was not surprised when Love came up in meditation last night.
What came next though I consider a gift,
I felt it was a gift as soon as the awareness of it arose in mind.
Living
Our
Very
Essence
How will you share your essence today?

Love is All that matters.

Friends:

"...as your life flows in new and unforeseen ways." I absolutely love that last line! I feel I have lived it these past 5 years. I lost my 1st wife in 2010 very suddenly. I was consumed by grief for so long I thought it would never end. One day I just surrendered it all, all the fear of it, every bit of it. I was stunned and overwhelmed in next instant when I felt GOD IS LOVE! It was so strong and powerful it turned my whole life upside down. My life has flowed into unseen waters ever since then. I thank God every day and mentally send love to anyone who catches my eye these days. I know on a soul level the message is being received. May God bless you and yours this day and every day, Keith "Love is all that matters."

This was inspired by a blog I get daily here's the link.

The Inca 05.06.15

The Inca

We scampered off to Peru late last month on a trip to the Sacred Valley in order to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Such a wonderful place. It was as if we stepped back in time to a place where the sun, the moon, the stars, and mother earth and all her creatures were still revered. The high mountain flowers were beautiful and bright, even if their size was slight. A tough life they live at such high elevations. We experienced various conditions, as well. It seems we experienced every season each day: with wind and rain, warmth and coolness, and sun and clouds abounding all around.

Yet, throughout our journey, we walked the ancient trails of a people who so appreciated it all. The Inca were masters of stonework and building. They were hydraulic engineers who could supply and move water everywhere and anywhere, many of the sites we visited have running water today because of that history. Thriving by being master farmers, elaborately terracing mountainsides, and looking to the skies for signs of change, their astrological sense was fine and told them when to plant and when to wait.

It was amazing to hear the tales of the Inca and even more so to feel it sink in as I hiked so long every day. I began to realize the extent of their reach--how all they built was interconnected, not only with the land, but the villages. Everything they built aligned with the stars: an empire reaching from Colombia and Ecuador to Chile and Argentina, some 1600 miles. Stretching along the spine of the Andes Mountains all the way.  A land of dramatic heights and steep valleys, cloud forests, and alpine meadows climates so very wet and some so very dry. I read before I left that all 8 major climate types in the entire world are represented in Peru.

We spent nights at 12,000 feet above sea level looking up to the stars. Seeing the Milky Way on display, it was easy to see how the Inca connected the Milky Way and the mountains. The stars seemed to just spill into the peaks. I hope this gives you a sense of the native peoples of Peru. They were very much like our native peoples who revered the land and mother earth, knowing that we are all one with all that is and revering that connection.

God blesses you and yours this day and every day,
Keith Noyes
