“To You?”
A couple of weeks
ago I heard a talk,
Spiritual in nature
discussing perspectives and such.
Then he asked a question.
How many of you
think life is happening
"to you?"
Is that your
standard mindset,
that life happens "to you?"
What I want you to consider is
does life
happen "for you!"
What if you
change your perspective
and look at every single thing
that happens
is
something that is "for you."
What does that shift
of perspective bring you?
You know there were so very many times
I
thought life was happening "to me."
No matter what happened,
it was because of something out there.
Many of you know I lost my first wife
suddenly and very unexpectedly
and was devastated by my grief.
My big shift came
when I saw things
from a
different angle.
When I allowed myself
to entertain thoughts
of what if all this
is happening "for me?"
What if all
of this
was "for me?!"
I woke up one night
after seeing my wife:
I
knew she was ok.
Yup, there she was over
me,
floated down and kissed me,
I felt it!
Then, poof, she was gone.
I was
still a mess though,
even actually thought
I was going crazy
I was going crazy
after that.
A few weeks later
I'm walking and
surrendering
everything to God.
“That's
it!
You can take me now!
If this is all there is for me,
it's not
working!"
At that moment
I had this
experience.
The chat with God
and then
all I saw
was pure Love all around,
I felt it,
saw Love in everything
I looked at,
I looked at,
everywhere.
As my Hospice counselor and I
explored this
over hours and hours of discussion
I came to realize her
death
brought me a great gift.
A gift
wrapped in a tragedy
that I had to experience
to awaken to my true Spiritual
nature.
From this new perspective,
I saw
that even her death was
"for me."
I had to have this experience
to unleash my Spiritual nature
that lied
buried so deep
within me.
I came to
realize
it wasn't life was "for me"
in the good and happy times
and
happening "to me"
when things were off,
or not going well.
These were lessons
I was learning something from
couched in pain,
disappointment, or sorrow
they were life lessons.
They were "for me,"
assisting my
growth,
my Spiritual growth.
So now I
ask you
is life happening "to you"
or "for you?"
I hope you ponder this.
A simple change in perspective,
a shift in
the focus
of how you view life
and how it happens "for you"
can
dramatically change
how you see
your very own life.
How your life takes on
a very different
meaning
when you realize everything is
"For You!"
All My Love
Always, Keith
